Un notebook impermeabile e resistente a urti e cadute per chi lavora in cantieri e ambienti particolarmente sporchi In un confortevole ufficio non avete certo bisogno del Toughbook CF-19 , un notebook la cui principale caratteristica è la robustezza. Arrivata ormai al decimo compleanno, la linea Toughbook ha riscosso successo in tutto il mondo proprio per il suo target specializzato non nel tipo d’uso, ma nell’ambiente d’uso: piattaforme petrolifere, cantieri e via discorrendo, ma anche a bordo di ambulanze o mezzi delle forze dell’ordine, e in tutti quei casi in cui non ci si può permettere cautela durante l’uso. Infatti questi notebook superano gli standard i collaudo più severi, dettati dalle specifiche militari. Ultimo nato della serie “rugged” è appunto il CF-19, un Tablet PC combinato relativamente compatto e leggero (compatibilmente con la struttura rinforzata), che si rivela particolarmente maneggevole sia in modalità notebook sia in quella Tablet, che si ottiene ruotando il display di 180 gradi e “ribaltandolo” sulla tastiera. La configurazione è di penultima generazione, poiché introdurre componenti nuovi in una struttura rinforzata come quella del CF-19 richiede tempo e revisioni di progettazione, ma nell’uso di applicazioni di produttività generale non abbiamo avuto problemi. Inoltre abbiamo apprezzato l’autonomia, che ha raggiunto cinque ore consecutive.In questo caso particolare non abbiamo svolto i tradizionali test di laboratorio, dato che chi prende in esame un Toughbook non lo fa certo per le prestazioni. Ci siamo invece sbizzarriti con test empirici nel tentativo di mettere a dura prova la resistenza del CF-19, quindi, specifiche alla mano, l’abbiamo buttato a terra da 90 cm di altezza, annaffiato con acqua e caffè, sballottato e cosparso di polvere. Oltre ad esserci divertiti, durante tutto questo tempo non abbiamo potuto che constatare che il sistema è rimasto acceso e funzionante, e che anche il giorno successivo tutto funzionava a dovere.
